Již po desáté vyjel z Vimperku do Kubovy Hutě, nejvýše položené české železniční stanice, speciální silvestrovský vlak. Že to byla výprava neobvyklá, dokládá společnost, jež se na železnici vydala. Ve vagonech totiž cestoval i Mistr Jan Hus, císař Karel IV. s chotí, Marie Terezie s dětmi nebo mouřenín benátský Othello, který se v každém kupé snažil zardousit nějakou ženu.
Speciální soupravy tak posunuly pasažéry nejen o něco blíž k roku 2010, ale přenesly je také ze století do století...
