Volarské slavnosti dřeva jsou proslulé svým pochodem v dřevácích... Rekord v počtu lidí obutých v dřevácích letos bohužel na Slavnostech dřeva opět nepadl. Do tradiční dřevěné obuvi se obulo 201 účastníků slavností, zatímco při rekordu v roce 2010 to bylo 263 lidí (v minulém roce 202 účastníků).
Vilém Doležal z pelhřimovské agentury Dobrý den, která spravuje české rekordy, však přeci jen jednu kuriozitu zapsal – dřevák vyrobený ze švédské žuly. Jeho autorem je kameník Richard Vondrásek z obce Lčovice, který “dřevák” předal starostce Volar Martině Pospíšilové k 20. výročí pořádání Slavností dřeva. “Žulový dřevák měří na délku 34 centimetrů a váží 7,9 kilogramů.
