Hořící pochodeň Světového běhu harmonie dorazila 23. května 2011 také do Volary a to v rámci trasy Český Krumlov – Volary - Vimperk.
Ke Světovému běhu harmonie se, na rozdíl od olympijské štafety, může připojit každý. Tisíce českých dětí i dospělých tak každoročně uběhnou s pochodní harmonie pár metrů nebo kilometrů, vloží do ní svou dobrou vůli a pošlou ji dál do světa. Ve Volarech si svých "pár" metrů společně s týmem běžců zaběhli žáci naší Základní školy.
