V stredu 20. júna do Bratislavy zavítala švajčiarsko-slovenská spisovateľka Irena Brežná. Čítala z novej knihy Postrehy emigrantky, ktorá prináša výber neobyčajných esejí, próz a reportáží z rokov 1981 až 2017. Knihu predstavila so zostavovateľkou a prekladateľkou Janou Cvikovou.
Písanie spisovateľky a novinárky Ireny Brežnej formovala zlomová skúsenosť emigrácie v roku 1968. Vynútená aj zvolená viacdomosť sa pre ňu stala zdrojom nevšedných postrehov o spoločnosti na Východe i Západe. Texty v tomto výbere, ktorý je už šiestou autorkinou knihou vychádzajúcou v slovenčine, vznikali v rozpätí rokov 1981 až 2017. Prinášajú rozmanité témy prepojené premýšľavo esejistickým, hravo poetickým a zároveň reportážne konkrétnym uvažovaním o zneužívaní, ale aj o (sveto)občianskom využívaní moci, o strachu z inakosti a vytváraní spoločenstva, o lžiach a ideáloch, o odstupe a blízkosti, o spolužití či jednoducho o jedinečnosti života – v Československu, Rusku, Guinei, Čečensku, vo Švajčiarsku, na Slovensku...
