Yardenit Baptismal Jordan River Marv Yardenit Baptismal Jordan River Phyl
After Capernaum and the boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, we traveled around the Sea to the Jordan River. At one place on the Jordan there was a baptismal site. There were four of our group who wanted to be baptized by Pastor Vic. When we arrived for the baptism there was a man who wanted to be baptized. He was not of our group and had been there by himself. Vic offered to baptize him also. After the baptism, Vic then took some river water and placed some on our foreheads as a reminder of our own baptism and what it means. This was a special time as we each reflected on our salvation and baptism. At this site were multiple translations of the story of Jesus being baptized by John the Baptist. These translations were on murals embedded in a stone wall. The Hawaiian (Pidgin) version was quite interesting to read.
