Tahle zajímavá zřícenina je dobrou ukázkou postupného zániku středověké stavby. Vstup je tam už na vlastní nebezpečí, na torzech zdí jsou vidět statická porušení. Celý areál je prorostlý náletovými dřevinami ztěžujícími pohyb i prohlídku, v některých místech i vzrostlé stromy dál narušují statiku toho, co tam zbylo. Hrad je vlastněn obcí Podhradí nad Dyjí, která se rozkládá v údolí pod ním. Ač se jedná o chráněnou kulturní památku ČR, jeho dalšímu postupnému rozpadu a zániku nic nebrání. Na to, že se jedná o stavbu opuštěnou v 15. století, se tam ale dochovalo dost k představě, jak asi vypadala v dobách své slávy. Zaujmou třeba střílny pro ležící střelce, jak tam nabíjeli ví jen Bůh. Dále třeba na tu dobu obrovské otvory pro okna ve vlastním paláci.<br>
