Sdružení hasičů Čech, Moravy a Slezska pořádá každoročně soutěž „Požární ochrana očima dětí a mládeže”. Je určená pro děti a mládež do věku 18 let. Výtvarná, literární a digitálně-technologická soutěž má dlouholetou tradici. Jejím posláním je zajistit větší osvětu mezi dětmi a mládeží v oblasti nejen požární ochrany a ochrany obyvatelstva před mimořádnými událostmi, ale Integrovaného záchranného systému jako celku. V letošním 48. ročníku bodovaly i děti z Chrastavy. V rámci okresního kola uspěly hned v několika kategoriích. V pondělí 13. června 2022 proběhlo v obřadní síni chrastavské radnice jejich vyhodnocení. Děti převzaly z rukou místostarostky města Zity Václavíkové a starostky Krajského sdružení hasičů Renaty Šimíkové ocenění a drobné dárky.<br>
