Historie hospitalu spadá do počátku osmnáctého století, kdy nechal hrabě František Antonín Sporck na svém panství, u obce Kuks, zbudovat velkolepý areál, který dodnes okouzluje návštěvníky. Kromě proslulých lázní, které patřily k nejslavnějším v tehdejší Evropě, vyrostl v nádherném labském údolí také klášterní Hospital, který ozdobily sochy Ctností a Neřestí z dílny mistra Matyáše Bernarda Brauna. Špitálnímu komplexu, který připomíná zámek, vévodí kostel Nejsvětější Trojice, pod nímž se otevírá pochmurná Sporckova hrobka. V areálu můžeme navštívit Muzeum farmacie s barokní lékárnou. V obci Kuks jsou dochovány i roubené domky bývalých řemeslníků a zaměstnanců sloužících v lázních. K Hospitalu je možno se dostat nejen od parkoviště, ale i od nedaleké vlakové zastávky, případně po červené turistické značce, nebo po cyklotrase KČT č. 24.
