Cesta do údolí Nubry vede přes průsmyk Khardung, který je nejvyšším silničním sedlem na světě. Je zde nutné vyvěsit praporky lungta a pak zase dolů. Do kláštera Diskit, jednoho z nejstarší a nejtajemnějších. Jeho kouzlo narušuje jen převeliká moderní socha Maitrei. Odtud dál kolem písečných dun až do městečka Hunder, kde je již možno slyšet dělostřelecké ostřelování hraničních jednotek Indie a Pakistánu. K vidění a zapůjčení dvojhrbí velbloudi. Po noci ve stanu (báječné) jestě jednou Hunder, pak k horkým pramenům, které byly tak horké, že to dalo dost přemáhání se v nich usadit. No a potom zase nahoru do sedla.
