Dolní Bělou lze bez nadsázky považovat za jedno z významnějších center severního Plzeňska. Ačkoli leží v nadmořské výšce pouhých 460 m n. m., své okolí převyšuje historií světskou i církevní, nabídkou služeb i jako centrum vzdělanosti a kultury.<br>Hrad, zbytky jehož zdi dodnes zdobí zámecké návrší, vznikl v letech 1313-1315 Původní kostel ze 14. století zanikl, ale středu obce dnes dominuje kostel Povýšení sv. Kříže, zrenovovaný v roce 1820 a barokní fara z 18. století.<br><br>
