Die Neue Brüderkirche wurde im Jahr 1971 erbaut, sie ist einer der ungewöhnlichsten Sakralbauten der Nachkriegsmoderne in Kassel. Ursprünglich gehörte auch ein Kirchturm zum Entwurf; er wurde jedoch eingespart, um mit dem Geld stattdessen Entwicklungsprojekte zu finanzieren. Seit 2012 versteht sich die Neue Brüderkirche als Vesperkirche.<br><br>Das dazugehörige Stadtteilzentrum wird während der documenta fifteen zum Quartier für das Kollektiv <a target="_blank" ook_href="https://documenta-fifteen.de/lumbung-member-kuenstlerinnen/ook_reinaart-vanhoe/">ook_</a> [reinaart vanhoe, Neue Brüderkirche, Espora, me_sobat, Colorlabor, graanschuur Tarwewijk, Elaine W. Ho, Bartira, Wok The Rock, COLLECTive, k. format, Take-A-Way, Plan B, Dynamitas unlimited …]. Es bietet hier Workshops für weitere Kollektive und Besucher*innen an: Hier kann vieles produziert werden, von Hausaltären bis hin zu selbst gedruckten Magazinen.
