Die große Karlswiese vor der Orangerie ist das Herz des 125 Hektar großen Staatsparks Karlsaue. Der barocke Auepark, der nach seinem Mäzen Landgraf Karl von Hessen-Kassel benannt wurde, ist schon seit vielen Jahren ein wichtiger Ausstellungsort für die documenta. Hier fand 1955 auch jene Bundesgartenschau statt, in deren Rahmen Arnold Bode seine erste documenta konzipierte.<br><br>In Kooperation mit der documenta fifteen erarbeitet die BDA (Bund deutscher Architekten) Gruppe Kassel Beiträge zur Ausstellungsarchitektur. Aufgabenstellung durch die documenta fifteen ist, Orte zum Rasten, Besinnen und Reflektieren zu schaffen. REFLECTING POINT 3 >>> Auf einer kleinen Kuppe in einer Lichtung der Aue befindet sich der Reflecting Point „Karlsauge“. Aus gestapelten Holzscheiten ist ein Ort der Begegnung und der Kontemplation entstanden. REFLECTING POINT 4 >>> Der Reflecting Point „Kollektiv“ in der Karlsaue besteht aus gestapelten Hordengattern. Die Holzzäune dienen dem Schutz von Jungpflanzen in Mischwäldern.
