"Alteingesessene Kasseler Bürger*innen erinnern sich noch an Schwimmausflüge ins Hallenbad Ost. Der Betrieb endete allerdings bereits 2007, das Gebäude stand über zehn Jahre leer und wäre beinahe abgerissen worden. Heute ist das 1929 errichtete Hallenbad eines der wenigen Gebäude im Bauhaus-Stil in Kassel.<br><br>Mittlerweile ist es denkmalgeschützt und ein architektonisches Highlight im industriell geprägten Stadtteil Bettenhausen; erstmals wird es von der documenta für eine Ausstellung genutzt. Auf 600 Quadratmetern präsentiert hier das indonesische Kollektiv Taring Padi sein Archiv. Die Gruppe sieht sich auf der Seite der Arbeiter*innenklasse, dabei versteht sie Organisation, Bildung und Agitation als ihre Hauptaufgaben. Mit großformatigen Bannern, Holzschnittplakaten und Wayang Kardus, lebensgroßen Figuren aus Pappe, zeigt Taring Padi künstlerische Arbeiten aus 22 Jahren in einer Retrospektive.
