Nejvyšší vrchol české Šumavy zná asi každý. Známá je i nejvyšší hora celé Šumavy Velký Javor. Jen o dva metry menší je a jiný kopec, který se nachází právě mezi Velkým Javorem a Modravou - Velký Roklan (<i>Großer Rachel</i>). Jako výchozí body slouží dvě autobusové zastávky tzv. Rachel Busu, který je dostupný ze Spiegelau. My vyrazili od Racheldiensthütte k Roklanskému ledovcovému jezeru a odtud pak dál k Roklanské kapli, která se tyčí přímo nad jezerem. Odsud už to není daleko na samotný vrchol Roklanu (1453 m.n.m.). Pod vrcholem je pak horská chata Waldschmidthaus spolu s vyhlídkou a kdo chce, může si popojít cca kilometr k vrcholku Malého Roklanu (1399 m.n.m.). Cestou zpět pak znovu autobusem ze zastávky Gfall. Cestou zpět jsme se na chvíli zastavili Nationalparkzentrum Lusen, kde jsou voliéry s divokými zvířaty Šumavy. Bohužel většina byla schovaná a tak největší zvířecí zážitek celého dne zůstali divočáci, které jsme potkali cestou na Roklan.<br>
