Here are photos from a couple of days ago. The first shot is kind of gross, dead crayfish, with eggs. That is life as a critter on the Bruce. The snake was a chubby one, with an unusually wide head. Apparently not a garter, but a Ribbon snake. Very similar but Heather found it when we got home. I was playing with my new lens and the depth of the focus is shorter than I expected in most. The snake looks fierce or menacing but really was a sweetheart. Easy to pick up, didn't "musk" me and we parted friends.
