Sever 2020, část 2 - Jaro ve švédském exilu
Díl druhý – vnitrozemím do hor
V Umeå opouštíme moře a míříme vnitrozemím směrem k horám.
Podobně jako při cestě podél pobřeží využíváme skvělou brožuru o přírodních rezervacích, kterou jsme získali již vloni, a četné rezervace navštěvujeme. Těžko vybrat, která vlastně byla hezčí a zajímavější, všechny stály za návštěvu. Další zajímavá místa vyhledáváme díky keškám a mnohé z nich nacházíme. Naše trasa na mapě trochu připomíná kličkování opilého soba, ale nespěcháme a některá z těch míst prostě musíme vidět :-)
Horší stránkou oteplení a postupujícího jara jsou komáři, kteří se pomalu objevují, a v Norsjö či u řeky Malå nás napadají s nebývalou silou. Sice jsme zvyklí na komáry z jihu Moravy, ale tohle je čisté komáří peklo. Naštěstí jedeme nyní stále výše do hor a komárů se prozatím zbavujeme. Ovšem vzrůstají v nás pochyby, zda jsme vůbec schopni ve Švédsku přes léto a komáří sezónu nějak přežít. V létě žerou i v horách, a jedinou nadějí je vítr, nebo až první mrazíky, které je na začátku podzimu zdecimují. Stále ještě trochu doufáme, že by Noři mohli dostat rozum a otevřít hranice. V norských horách a u fjordů nebude komáří situace tak dramatická a do Švédska bychom se pak vrátili opět na podzim (předběheme událostem – nestalo se tak, norská hranice zůstala uzavřena, první uvolnění s některými švédskými oblastmi nastalo až později v létě, čehož jsme již neměli důvod využít a zůstali raději věrni jistotě volného pohybu v liberálním Švédsku).
V horách v blízkosti Hemavanu pak ještě v období slunovratu nečekaně zažíváme úžasný lyžařský výlet a po návratu do Hemavanu vyhlašujeme začátek „švédského komářího léta“ – což bude další epizoda našich fotek a vyprávění :-)

The North 2020, part 2 – Spring in the Swedish exile
Episode two – Going inland and to the mountains
In Umeå we are leaving the sea and head inland towards the mountains.
As we did along the coast, we use the excellent brochure describing nature reserves and visit some of them. It is hard to choose which one was actually nicer and more interesting, they were all worth a visit. We also used Geocaching web pages for finding other interesting places and found many caches there. Our route on the map looks like a drunken reindeer route, but weren’t hurrying and we just have to see some of these places :-)
The worse side of the warming temperatures and the advancing spring are the mosquitoes, which are slowly appearing and attacking us with unprecedented force in Norsjö and at the Malå river. We are used to mosquitoes from southern Moravia, but this is pure mosquito hell. Fortunately, we are now going higher and higher into the mountains and we are getting rid of the mosquitoes for now. However, there is growing doubt in our minds whether we are even able to survive in Sweden through the summer and mosquito season. In summer they bite even in the mountains, and the only hope is the wind or the first frosts that decimate them in early autumn. We still hold out some hope that the Norwegians might come to their senses and open their borders. In the Norwegian mountains and near the fjords, the mosquito situation would not be so dramatic and we would then return to Sweden again in the autumn (we'll get ahead of events - it didn't happen, the Norwegian border remained closed. The first re-opening of borders with some Swedish counties came later in the summer, which we had no reason to take advantage of, preferring to stay in liberal Sweden with sureness of free movement).
We also made an unexpected and amazing ski trip in the mountains near Hemavan during the midsummer, and upon our return to Hemavan we declare the beginning of the "The Swedish Mosquito Summer" - which will be the next part of our photos and stories :-)
