Dňa 11. 2. 2016, na sviatok lurdskej Panny Márie - tak ako to bolo uvedené v nedeľných oznamoch - som po sv. omši asi päťdesiatim veriacim, starým a chorým udelil sviatosť pomazania chorých. Pred sv. omšou, ako obvykle mohli chorí a starí pristúpiť k sv. spovedi a po sv. prijímaní a sv. omši pristúpili k tejto sviatosti. Tento deň, ktorý vyhlásil svätý otec Ján Pavol II. sa už po 24. krát slávi ako celosvetový deň chorých. K tomuto dňu chorých posiela do celého sveta svoje posolstvo svätý otec František.
