Český pohár v plavání v Ostravě Poruba konaný poslední dubnový víkend 2018 za účasti plavců z deseti zemí probíhal nejen v interiérech oblíbeného padesátimetrového bazénu Sareza, ale také v exteriérech v okolí Ostravy. Blanenští plavci plavali za účelem získání osobních rekordů potřebných na mistrovský šampionát a postupu do odpoledního slavnostního finále, kde se bojovalo o medaile. Doprovod obdivoval nejen jejich výkony, ale také přírodní krásy této části Česka (pěší výstup na nejvyšší vrchol Beskyd Lysou horu z Malenovic od hotelu Petr Bezruč, prohlídka barokních zámků a kostelů v Kravařích a Velkých Hošticích u Ostravy).
