We crossed the Gulf of Corinth from Peloponnese to Central Greece via the Rio-Antirrio Bridge stopping at Nafpaktos, a small Venetian port with a statue of Cervantes (lost his arm in naval battle of Nafpaktos) and monuments to Notis and Domitrios Botsaris. The road up to Delphi on Mount Parnassus are lined with olive and cypress trees.It's the site of the 4thc.BC Temple of Apollo and the legendary oracle. The archaeological complex has remains of the sanctuaries of Apollo and Athena Pronaia, a stadium and theatre. The Archaeological Museum exhibits artifacts unearthed during excavations at Delphi including the Charioteer of Delphi, the Sphinx of Naxos, two identical Kouros statues, omphalos, marble statue of Antinoos, "Melancholy Roman" bust, clay female figurines, Friezes from Delphi Theatre, Treasury of the Siphians and Temple of Apollo. Continuing to Athens we pass through Arachova, on slopes of Mount Parnassus, popular during the ski season.
