Crossing by ferry between Padangbai, Bali & Lembar, Lombok we saw dolphins. We stayed at Tetebatu, Central Lombok, a mountain retreat at the foot of Mt Rinjani. From here we explored local rice fields and saw the planting, harvesting & milling of rice. Visited the local village of Masbagik to see traditional pottery making: from the drying of clay to it's firing using straw open fires. The nearby village of Pringgasela is known for its traditional weaving.
Travelling by horse and cart we visited Kota Raja local markets followed by a basket weaving lesson.
From central Lombok we travelled north and stayed Pondok Senaru guesthouse, on a ridge with views to Mt Rinjani. Here we visited a traditional Senaru Village and walked to the Sendang Gila Waterfall.
