Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the Western Region of Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park is 1,978 square kilometres extending from Lake George in the north-east to Lake Edward in the south-west, with the Kazinga Channel connecting the two lakes. It is known for its wildlife: Cape buffaloes, hippopotami, crocodiles, elephants, leopards, Congo lions, chimpanzees and over 500 species of birds. The park has many crater lakes, at the Katwe craters, salt is extracted.
