Wilhelmina Bay is 24 kilometres wide along the west coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula. The ship was parked firmly into the fast ice and we took our first steps on the Antarctic mainland walking across the fast ice and admiring the dazzlingly beautiful scenery. The bay is surrounded by steep cliffs full of snow and glaciers. Then we went zodiac cruising around the bay among the amazing ice sculptures and saw leopard, weddell and crab eater seals, gentoo and chinstrap penguins on the ice floes.
