Nicaragua is a green, lush beautiful country with the huge Lake Nicaragua in its interior. Within the lake is the large island of Ometepe with its own 2 large volcanoes. Around the lake shores are lovely Spanish colonial towns of Granada & Leon and the capital city of Managua. The towns have many splendid churches & cathedrals: Basilica de la Asuncion, Leon, Catedral Vieja, Managua, Catedral Nueva, Managua. We went to Masaya Volcano, Las Isletas (Lake Nicaragua), Dona Elba (cigar factory), Granada. We photographed a lovely Poroporo (Buttercup Tree) in Plaza De Xalteva, Rivas, Osprey, Great White Heron, wading bird, Great Blue Heron, Cormorant, White-Throated Magpie Jay, Black Vulture and Spider Monkeys.
