Rishikesh is a small town on the Ganges in picturesque surroundings of the Himalayan foothills. It became famous when the Beatles stayed at the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's ashram (now closed). The town is still known as the World Capital of Yoga, a fascinating place to wander around where tourists, pilgrims and babas (holy men) mingle. We ended out trip at a tented camp beside the River Ganges and photographed birds around Rishikish including White-eared Bulbul, Eurasian Jackdaw, Brahminy starling, Crested kingfisher, Blue whistling thrush.
