We visited some of Karst limestone caves on the Margaret River coastal road (Caves Road) between Yallingup and Augusta. They were the Ngilgi, Lake and Jewel cave systems and a secret cave near Prevelly. The Ngilgi Cave, near Yallingup has spectacular shawls, helictites, stalagmites & stalactites. The Secret Cave we found from information posted on Wiki-camps. The stairs to the Lake Cave giant sunken entrance adds awe to any visit. The Lake Cave has a unique "suspended table" weighing a couple of tonnes that seems to hover over a crystal clear underground lake. The underneath of the table is reflected in the water, see photograph. The Jewel Cave has 3 vast caverns and is near Augusta. The Jewel Cave has flowstones, shawls, large stalagmites, stalactites, helictites and still growing delicate straws. Look carefully at the ceiling for tree roots growing into the cave.
