Leaving Manaus, we crossed the Amazon River to Careiro Village from where we continued by bus & boat to Juma Amazon Lodge at Autazes. From the lodge, we explored the local area in small boats visiting local villages and landing on parts of the jungle still above the rising Amazon. Wildlife photographed: Woolly monkey, Amazon Black Howler, South American Tapir, Brown-throated sloth, black caiman, piranha, a friendly snake and birds yet to be identified. Returning to Manaus, we stopped at a floating dock to Feed Pirarucu (Arapaima).
