Sorrento is a tourist town south of the city of Naples, with some 16,500 inhabitants. Ferry boats and hydrofoils provide services to Naples, Amalfi, Positano, Capri so it' a popular base to explore the area & the Amalfi coast. Sorrento is famous for the production of limoncello, a digestif made from lemon rinds, alcohol, water and sugar. Other agricultural production includes citrus fruit, wine, nuts and olives. Its famous for its wood craftsmanship.
Capri is an island located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrentine Peninsula on the southern side of the Gulf of Naples. The main town Capri overlooks its port & is connected by a funicular railway. Capri has been a resort island since Roman times. Some of its sites are include the Marina Piccola (the little harbour), the Belvedere of Tragara (a high panoramic promenade lined with villas), the limestone crags (the Faraglioni) and Roman villa ruins.
