We used the excellent public ferry system to travel around the Cyclades islands and it was a 2 hour trip from Syros to Paros. We stayed at Drios to explore the towns of Naousa with its Venetian fort guarding its harbour, Parikia with its "Our Lady of the Hundred Gates" Church and walked the Byzantine trail from Lefkes to Prodromos. We took a small boat to the nearby island of Antiparos to see its castle and a cave system with the Church of Saint John at the cave’s entrance .
