We took a two day cruise up the Ayeyarwady River from Bagan to Mandalay on a small ferry and slept on deck. The trip gave a wonderful glimpse of rural life along the river bank with, local villages, farming and fishing. The second day began with an incredible Ayeyerwady sunrise. Continuing leisurely along the river to disembark at Sagaing for temple viewing then heading for our final destination at Mandalay.
