The purpose of this trip was to see the wild flowers of Western Australia, explore the rugged Kimberley region and visit national parks of WA. During our travels, we photographed wild flowers, including Orchids, many birds, wild life and the spectacular coastal scenery of WA. We left Sydney in August & travelled north through Queensland, across Northern Territory and into north east Western Australia in our camper van. Via the Great Northern Highway we crossed to Broome (north west WA) to join a camping safari with Kimberley Wild, to explore the rugged Kimberley's in their 4X4 truck. After an exciting 12 days, we returned to Broome, picked up our campervan and travelled down the western coast of Australia through the Pilbara, the Coral Coast, zig-zagging inland to see the incredible wild flowers of WA. Continuing south along the Sunset Coast, we reached the south west point of Australia where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean at Cape Leeuwin. We now headed east along the southern coast of Western Australia, going inland to explore the towering southern forests & national parks. Our return to Sydney was across the Nullarbor Plain, a 1200klm journey from Norseman to Ceduna (South Australia).We took the coastal route around the Yorke Peninsular (South Australia) to Port Augusta, crossing inland to see the birds of the Riverland region on the Murray River. We followed the Murray across the state of Victoria into New South Wales, to join the Sturt Highway. We switched to the Mid Western Highway at Hay returning home via the Blue Mountains. We spent three months travelling, eating & sleeping in our little Toyota Hi-ace Camper van, not once did it let us down during this 19,000klms road trip.
