Our visit to Naples began with lunch in L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele to try the "world's best pizza" of Eat Pray Love fame. It really was delicious. Then we wandered around the labyrinth of narrow streets in the historic centre. Along Via San Gregorio Amena we learned the tradition of Presepi figurines and wandered into old baroque palaces. Along the main shopping street of Via Toledo we saw the Galeria Umberto and around the town we spotted unique traffic signs of the artist Clet Abraham. A visited to the National Archaeological Museum was a good preparation for the nearby sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum as many of the treasures unearthed at the sites are stored in this museum.
