Střecha nad společenským sálem už nutně potřebovala opravu. Začalo se odstraněním staré krytiny, lepenky a hřebíků, což je podle Ondřeje Švehly ze společnosti GOS cz, s.r.o., která opravy provádí, z celé akce ta nejhorší práce.
Na ploše přibližně 30 čtverečních metrů nezbývalo než vyměnit i trámy a prkna. Místy sem zatékalo, svou práci odvedli mravenci nebo dřevomorka. Tesařské prvky byly po opravě ještě preventivně namořeny impregnací proti škůdcům. Teprve potom začala pokládka podkladové fólie a nakonec nové titanozinkové krytiny.
Součástí oprav jsou i menší střechy nad vchodem a zázemím sálu. Celková investice dosáhne bezmála 1,5 milionu korun. Dvěma sty tisíci se na ní podílí i české ministerstvo kultury.
Příští rok by měla dočkat opravy také zbylá části střechy nad restaurací. Pokud jednání s Národním památkovým ústavem v Liberci dobře dopadnou, vrátí se na ní původní břidlicové šablony.
