Právě tady v roce 2004 vyvrcholily oslavy vstupu České republiky do Evropské unie a s tím mimo jiné přestaly pomyslnému spojenectví Hrádku nad Nisou, Žitavy a Bogatynie překážet hranice - tedy alespoň ty geografické. Slavnost se na Trojzemí od té doby koná každoročně. Má mezinárodní program a tradičně končí oblíbeným ohňostrojem.
