Sirény a následný příjezd hasičské techniky na Horní náměstí byly naštěstí jen mezinárodním taktickým cvičením, při kterém hasiči zkoušeli záchranu skupiny dětí a poté i cenných exponátů z historických prostor multifunkčního centra Brána Trojzemí. „Požár“ se v převážně dřevěné konstrukci rychle šířil, takže za chvíli nebylo v zadýmených místnostech na krok vidět. Čtyřicet hasičů z jednotek z Hrádku nad Nisou, Chotyně, Dolního Sedla, Liberce a Žitavy se postaralo o vyvedení všech dětí s pomocí dýchací techniky a také s využitím žebříku. Pak došlo i na „exponáty“, které byly přeneseny do Besedy. Cvičení bylo ukončeno vyhodnocením v hasičské zbrojnici.
