Společenský večer města se letos konal už po sedmnácté. Je tradičním posledním ohlédnutí za rokem předchozím. Starosta města Josef Horinka spolu s místostarostou Pavlem Farským s využitím několika desítek fotografií připomněli, co se ve městě v roce 2018 postavilo, opravilo, ale také jakými akcemi město a jeho okrajové části žilo. Druhá část večera patřila oceněným. Cenu starosty města převzal za reprezentaci školy a města žák ZŠ Lidická Patrik Pöschl. Za zviditelnění města v soutěži Česko-Slovensko má talent se cenu převzala teprve devítiletá Luisa Jírová. Dalších 13 ocenění putovalo mezi sportovce. Za řadu dobrých výsledků na běžeckých závodech město ocenilo Zuzanu Sladkou, za mimořádné výsledky v šipkařském sportu Sandru Doležalovou a za reprezentaci v motoristickém enduru Martina Pospíšila. Hrádecké mažoretky přivážejí medailová umístění ze soutěží celkem pravidelně, letos byly oceněny Viktorie Janďurová, Kristýna Šmahelová, Kateřina Šmahelová, Karolína Boudová, Natálie Zrnovská, Eliška Resselová a jejich trenérka Veronika Bartůňková.
