V roce 2009 obnovila parta nadšenců tradici Hrádeckého triatlonu. Původně věhlasný závod upadal v zapomnění a jeho vzkříšení představovalo velkou výzvu. Ujal se jí Stanislav Dvořan, dnešní ředitel DDM Drak. Dokázal sestavit tým pracovitých organizátorů a běhen několika let z hrádeckého závodu učinit jeden z největších triatlonů v České republice. Ideální podmínky na Kristýně a v nedalekých Lužických horách závodníci vyhledávají. V letošním roce se mnoha závodům nepodařilo vyrovnat počty startujících z minulých let. To ale případ Triatlonu Hrádek nad Nisou není. Má za sebou již 14. ročník od doby, kdy se znovu narodil. A opět velice úspěšný.
