Blížící se Vánoce vylákaly Věrku s Erikou do Prahy na trhy a já tak měl volno. Tak jsem sbalil batoh a foťák a vyrazil vlakem do Police nad Metují s cílem projít se proti proudu Metuje a pak vylézt na kopec Hejda. To první bylo bez problémů. I na Hejdu jsem vylezl, ale do jejích skal jsem se nedostal. Zrovna se tu likvidovaly polomy, takže vstup zakázán. Nevadí, příště. Stejně odpoledne na výhledy nebylo moc počasí a skalní bludiště mi neuteče. Končil jsem v Teplicích nad Metují a na posledním úseku už jsem ani foťák nevyndal z brašny. Drobné sněžení přešlo do vydatného mrholení a tak jsem radši koukal, abych byl co nejrychleji na nádraží. Samozřejmě. jen jsem tam došel, ukázalo se slunce...
