Mezi nejznámější turistické atrakce patří zcela určitě vyhlídkový skalní most Bastei, který jednou z největších dominant a symbolů Saského Švýcarska. Původní název Bastei je připomínkou na obranný soubor strmých skal kolem skalního hradu Neurathen. Skály na Bastei vznikly díky vodní erozi během miliónů let a ční až ve 305 metrech nadmořské výšky. Z Bašty, což je český název, se můžete těšit z výhledů na labské údolí, na kamenný most Basteibrücke, hrad Neurathen a na skalní město. Bastei najdete 194 metrů nad pravým břehem Labe a je vzdálen přibližně patnáct kilometrů od hraničního přechodu Hřensko – Schmilka. Kamenný most Basteibrücke – první turistický evropský most má na délku 76 metrů a překlenuje hlubokou propast Mardertelle (Kuní jámu). Spojuje mezi sebou Bastei a skalní hrad Neurathen. Vznik mostu se datuje do roku 1851 a jednalo se vůbec o první evropskou stavbu pro turisty. Bastei leží blízko lázeňského městečka Rathen, nedaleko Pirny.
