3rd September 2013 - Public Opening of Birmingham's spectacular new Central Library. However, I think buildings should be functional and beautiful rather than spectacles, and the hoops are a poor alternative to good architecture. Much the same could be said about Selfridges Department Store in the Bull Ring, just substitute hub caps for hoops. Nevertheless, the facilities and interior design of the new library are fantastic, and I really enjoyed the roof gardens.
