Ve středu 21. 11. 2018 proběhl na VŠB-TU v Ostravě VII. ročník Semináře k problematice Středoškolské odborné soutěže (SOČ). Této akce se zúčastnilo i šest studentů z naší školy, ze tříd 1. B a 1. C, kteří se letos do soutěže přihlásili. V dopoledním a odpoledním bloku se střídaly přednášky odborníků, kteří soutěžícím z celého kraje předávali rady o tom, jak psát odbornou práci na dané téma, jakým způsobem práci obhajovat nebo jakých chyb se při psaní i obhajobě vyvarovat. Zazněla zajímavá témata, která se týkala např. problematiky dopravy v Ostravě, výuky ve virtuální realitě či možnosti spolupráce při řešení SOČ na Katedře energetiky VŠB Ostrava. Program zpestřilo vystoupení absolventa Mendelova gymnázia v Opavě, který v soutěži SOČ dosáhl na 1. místo v celostátním kole. Studenti naší školy celou akci hodnotili velmi pozitivně, a tak jim v letošním soutěžním ročníku SOČ přejeme hodně štěstí.
