Vstup do prvního ročníku může znamenat pro žáky zátěžovou situaci, vzhledem k tomu, že představuje důležitou změnu v životě mladého člověka, žáka, studenta. Pro mnohé to znamená začít studovat ve městě, které dosud neznali. Proto v rámci aklimatizace zařazujeme hned v prvním týdnu projekt, jehož cílem je poznání města Chomutova, při kterém se žáci vydávají po stopách F. J. Gerstnera. Jejich úkolem je projít vytyčenou trasu, splnit zadané úkoly a v co nejlepším čase dorazit ve skupinách do cíle, jímž byl areál Domovinka na Lipské, kde proběhlo vyhodnocení a odměnění nejzdatnější skupiny. Cestou měli žáci za úkol se zorientovat v Chomutově, seznámit se s nejdůležitějšími zajímavostmi města, na vyznačených stanovištích pořídit originální „selfie“ a posléze zpracovat prezentaci z celého dopoledne.<br>
