Hustířany je obec prvně připomínaná jako tvrz r.1355 v rukou Jiříka z Hustířan. Obec se rozkládá na dvou protilehlých kopcích, mezi kterými v údolí teče potok Hustířanka. Na potoce byly vybudovány dva chovné rybníky. Na křižovatce silnic se nachází kříž, v jeho blízkosti zvonička a odpočinkové místo s informační tabulí a smírčím křížem. Mezi kopci uprostřed vesnice u potoka byla v r. 1881 vybudovaná škola za starou, značně zchátralou a nevyhovující. Byl to kompromis mezi obyvateli obou stran obce, ale jak se ukázalo, toto rozhodnutí bylo chybné. Místnosti byly studené, vlhké, po úpravě silnice se budova ocitla pod její úrovní a pod její serpentýnou. Počet žáků ve škole v průběhu let kolísal, až byla v r.1966 zcela uzavřena. V současné době je vesnice součástí obce Velichovky. V r.2001 byl založen mikroregion Hustířanka, pojmenovaný právě podle zdejšího potoka, který spojuje 15 obcí. Sídlo má ve Velichovkách. Za vesnicí směrem na Habřinu je mlýn Podhrad a na návrší hradiště Vražba. <br>
