Brod leží v údolí řeky Labe a patří pod sousední obec Heřmanice. Je tu 38 domů a v nich žije asi 100 obyvatel. Historie obce je spjata s historií Heřmanic. V průběhu staletí se zde vystřídala řada majitelů. V letech 1600-1623 byly obě obce v držení Valdštejnů. Od Albrechta z Valdštejna byla tato část panství prodána Marii Magdaléně Trčkové (roz. Lobkowicz), která vynikala obchodním talentem i svou sličností. Na své poddané však byla velmi přísná a lakotná, proto byla přezdívána "zlá Manda". Z historických památek je zajímavý kříž u mostu.<br>Při povodních to obec nemá lehké, bývá pravidelně zaplavována. Na fotce č. 6 na pilíři mostu (vedle červené turistické značky) je znamení, kam až dosahovala voda při povodni 9.3.2000.<br>
